The Heroes on the Water - New Jersey chapter will be having another Sandy Hook event on September 7th. For those of you who do not know, Heroes on the Water’s mission is to help wounded warriors relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate into society through kayak fishing and the outdoors.
HOW provides these outing free of charge to these great men and women. We provide everything (kayak, PFD, bait, rod/reel, tackle, food and a personal fishing guide). We are able to do this thanks to the generosity of our local communities.
For this event the Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary are hosting us at their Sandy Hook station and will be providing us food as well.
Bait, ice and a rod/reel combo are being donated from Pete at Atlantic Bait & Tackle. I can't say enough about his support. After the last event, he asked when the next event would be at Sandy Hook. I told him September (this was in June) and he was bummed that it wasn't sooner.
There are still some spots available for this event. So please sign up if you are a vet and would like to join. Or forward the information to your vet friends! More information can be found at www.hownj.com.
