bill dumchuss/and friends bang the bigeye (http://www.jennyleesportfishing.com/blog/index.php?/archives/192-bill-dumchussand-friends-bang-the-bigeye.html)
capt's jimmy gahm and sean carton took bill dumchuss of clark out for his annual canyon trip on sunday august 25th, 2013. we usually have good luck with billy and this trip was no exception. after a slow morning troll things broke wide open as they boated a 40lb yellowfin and then things got very hectic. the wolfpack attacked and five bigeyes were hooked but one got burned off right away and and three more pulled hooks, but we did boat one in the 140lb range. shortly thereafter another three came up and we boated 2 of the three in the dark. the overnight chunk once again was a bust but back on the troll monday morning in sporty conditions they got bit again by two more coming tight on the largest of the trip at 190lbs. the wind was due to increase and sure enough it did so the boys headed home with 4 bigeyes to 190lbs and 1 40lb yellowfin. capt jimmy a shimano field tester/rep wanted to report that the shimano waxwing lure was red hot and accounted for several hookups, and he now has to replace ours as the bigeyes put a hurtin on it. go to our photo section to see the waxwing.
