scott lau overnighter 8/22/23 (http://www.jennyleesportfishing.com/blog/index.php?/archives/191-scott-lau-overnighter-82223.html)
capt's kevin gerrity and dave bender took scott and dave lau of bridgewater, along with neal esposito of brick and friend brad of easton pa out for an overnight canyon trip on thursday august 22. we arrived at the edge at 12:30 and had out first bite at 12:40 a small yellowfin. not shortly thereafter we had another bite and this time it was a nicer yellowfin. we then trlled not much longer and had a beautiful white marlin which we caught and released. after searching and drilling the same area we got the bite we were looking for, brad started off and did a good job but the fish was just too strong, so the guys passed the rod like aq bong pipe at a dead concert, with brad finally putting the boots to a 190lb bigeye, the guys first ever. we set up for the night and at about 4am caught a 125lb mako and shrlty thereafter caught a nice yellowfin. we got up on the troll with high hopes but i guess our luck had run out, we didn't have another bite that friday morning and headed home in some very tough sea conditions. the guys were great and i'm sure we'll see them again next year.
