Hi all,
My buddy and I plan on going for fluke tomorrow, and I see there is NE winds at 15-20 knots. I was wondering if these conditions are horrible. Due to work eat I only get out about 5-10 trips a season and this season I have had horrible luck with weather. We plan on going out of belmar part boat.
I would greatly appreciate any insight.
Thank you,
Milhouse

yeah the forecasted seas do not look bad onpaper but with ne 15-20 it aint gonna be nice if it indeed does blow that hard, if it came on later in the day you would be fine in fact some of my best fluke days were in a light northeast 5-10

If you take a ride up to AH, the PB's may be able to fish in the lee of Sandy Hook if it's too windy . Just a thought.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the lee? Also, what boat would you suggest in the AH for fluke? I have fished the Fisherman and I believe the prowler for tog.
Thanks for the help guys

Lee is protection from the wind. Boats out of the AH can stay in the hook away from the wind. Seahorse is an excellent choice.

You can't go wrong on the Atlantic Star. Captain Tom and mates will take care of you.

NOAA has the marine forcast at NNE winds about 15 knots with 3-4 foot seas. Wind guru has the same prediction. BW has breezy whitecapping conditions with moderate choppy seas. NE winds at 15 knots and seas at 3-4 feet. Pretty much as the previous preditions. I would consider this weather not perfect, but definitely fishable. I would go on a large party boat like the Ocean Explorer, a 100 footer, out of Belmar. A great Captain and crew.

I like NE winds a bit choppy on the ocean side but your not fishing far offshore for Fluke where you have worry about it. Some of my best days have been fishing on a NE wind. I say if it's your day off go too many times it has happened here nobody shows up & it does not not turn out to be as bad as they say.

That's funny because my dad and I are trying to see if we should go fishing tomorrow too.

no we went ocean explorer, but we wished we stayed home. horrible day, 12oz barely holding bottom. they were nice enough to give everyone a $10 off coupon. captain bobby made many stops, most with not many bites. a few drifts had a few keepers, but a lousy day overall. mates worked their asses off.

I fished the Dorothy B today Capt. Kevin took us out toward Coney Is., first drift gave up 5 or 6 keepers. We did that drift the rest of the morning. Found 4 keepers for me and the pool.
FWI - I was on a 6 pack tomorrow that has been cancelled.

Lee definition. Sheltered. also proof that way to many people doing crossword puzzles believe that others do them as well. :) your not ignorant they are just trying to expand their vocabulary. It's nice to see continued education. But hey guys your on a fishing site not Webster's :)
