Had the pleasure of going out this past saturday afternoon on a 3-9pm charter with my company. We all had a very wonderful time fishing on this boat. Mates were fantastic, they helped out all the newbies. My girlfriend and I caught several shorts buck tailing and each got a nice keeper. Good times were had by all. Highlight of the evening was hooking into something very, very big. Long story short, fish started to spool me, mates were quick to let the captain know and off we went. After being taken around the boat from stern to bow, and chasing down the fish, we were finally able to bring in to the surface, all the while thinking it might had been a striper in the 50 class. Well, it wasn't, but it was hugh. Both mates estimated it at around 70#. Thank god everything was perfect. lamiglass rod, Abu reel, 40# braid, 25' topshot 30# mono, 40# leader to bucktail, owner hook. My surprised Drum.

Steve, It was a pleasure having you and your group out for a night of fun fishing. You handled that fish with class. When you first hooked up I thought is was a ray because I had seen a few that night. It just goes to show you never know. Once again congrats on the fish. It was a beast. Just glad we got it in the boat for you. Capt. Greg

The mates cut it up and people took it home to cook. Kind of like bass.
