Got out yesterday with Roy and Jimmy in some cooler temps for a change. Started off in the Sandy Hook channel for some shorts , sea robins and I got the first keeper there, a 19". Worked the area pretty good but it seemed there were more shorts than boxers.
Around 11:30 we took a ride down the beach to the reef to see if we could find some better fish. That we did. Shortly after getting there Jimmy landed a 21" and I had a 23" flattie. Shorts were mixed in as well along with some small seabass. Roy showed us up by bringing a nice 26"er into the net. Well the captain should catch some fish too :p Jimmy ended with a limit, I had 3 and Roy had 2. The wind swung around just as predicted. Around 1:30 it was pickin up and so did the fishin, unfortunately all shorts by this time. But they were hungry. Just about every drop down one slammed your jig or teaser. We quit around 2:30. Good day on the water and felt great drivin down in the morning with the windows open for a change.
