7 -21 – Report
Bluefishing was good again today. We were catching smaller blues on jigs. The best area was 10 miles East of Brielle. We saw plenty of fish in the area and they were on the surface feeding, at times. We even caught a Spanish Mackerel today.
Last year when the blues moved into this area they stayed for weeks, and we were able to catch them every day. When the larger blues move back in range we will fish for them. Until then we should have good action with the smaller blues.
Night bluefishing was terrible over the weekend. The body of bluefish that was South East of the inlet pushed offshore, and was out of range. They should move back in soon, as the full moon passes and we have a change in the weather with northerly winds forecast this week.
The pool winner was:
Tom Panyko from N Brunswick NJ with a 4Lb Spanish Mackerel.
The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail every day at 7:30AM and every night at 7:30PM
