Some friends of mine just invited me up to their nicely air conditioned camper this weekend at the Kittatinny Camp Ground in Barryville, NY. I've only fished the Deli from Dingmans to the Gap. Is it the same deal up there? Smallies and eyes?

Great area for Smallies and Etes. Same river same fish. Fish the deep hole at Narrowsburg, deepest hole on the entire river. Good luck!!!

I'll be up in Barryville as well kayaking from Barryville down to Matamoras.....We do this a few times each summer and I always kick my ass for not bringing a rod....The water is so clear that I have seen Walleyes , nice Bass, LM and SM, and even have seen a Muskie or two cruising under the kayak.....It's beautiful up there so enjoy!....bring sunscreen because after a long day, you will get burned...Bonus bears and bald eagles are commonly spotted so keep your eyes peeled......and bring a camera!!...Have fun!!

I landed a 5-6 lb. Striper in that area while doing the faux camping thing at Kittatinny Camp Ground. Was tossing a PM all gold. Tons of short SMB and quite a few giant Bluegills too.
The weather Sat. afternoon could get interesting, but I'm guessing you won't be alone there this weekend;)

Thanks for the positive intel guys! I think we are dropping in right at the campsite so I'm not sure Narrowsburg will be on the itinerary this time. The girls want to do the raft thing so I'll be trailing on my yak. They said it's about a 6 mile run? Hey Iceehot, if by some chance you come across a dude in a sand colored fishing yak with a green and orange cooler on the back, pull up for a cold one!
What's a "PM"?

I don't know what happened down south but we didn't see a drop of rain all weekend and the humidity was way down Friday night and gone by Saturday evening. We dropped in at 11 Saturday in Barryville and did the float to Pond Eddie. 5 lunatics in a raft with myself in the yak. I fished the whole stretch ending up with at least a dozen smallies, and dozen or so red breasted sunfish and few creek chubs tossing spinners and stick baits. I came up empty jigging the deeper pools. Nothing big but solid numbers. It was only my first time in that stretch but i couldn't imagine better conditions. Like Iceehot said, real clear water with a rocky river bed the whole way with tons of drop offs and ledges. I saw tons of stuff swimming around, huge suckers out there! Sorry we couldn't connect Iceehot but once we got up there the cell service was not existent. Im looking forward to that stretch through Eagles Nest!

We saw a hand full of Eagles and a few Ospreys, A highlight of the weekend was- I was fishing this pool, I set the hook on a smallie and had an eagle fly right over me with a fish in it''s talons. Double Header! haha
