We spent another day inside today, but managed 7 or 8 keeper fluke up to 4.8# and weakfish up to 3.8# with some fast & furious fishing at times. The fishing in the river and bay is not bad at all right now and has been better than fishing out front, if you can get out at all. Weather has sucked!
We caught all of the fish on Trailing Teaser Rigs, using Skips Bullet Head Jigs, tipped with Swimming Mullet GULP, and live killies on the trailing hook. The fish were caught on both the jigs and the killies, with the action being about even between the two. Hot colors for the jigs and teasers on the rig were pink & green. Both colors were equal in catching as well.
Was nice to see some weakies this size, especially in the middle of the day! Low boat traffic helped I am sure. But... still, I didnt expect them at the times we fished.
Here is a pic of my son, with his 2 top fish. I know you guys need photos to believe the reports.... :)
