Theres a good spot about a marinara from Lucca. Not to far. Not sure which direction though. Wish I had mortadella but I don't.

You really have to ask around the marinas in the area where you will be visting about recreational/boat fishing, as most of Italy's fishing is limited to commercial/private business. Most of my family is there, but they are as far south as you can get in the Puglia region where charter/spear fishing is very popular.

Last year I went on a tuna jigging trip in the Mediterranean out of Lecce, an area near Bari, and it was insane. 100/150 pound Bluefin/Yellowfin all day on some serious Allutecnos Gear. I also did some quality bottom fishing in the Lazio Region (Rome) as well. There is amazing freshwater/Fly Fishing in Tuscany for Trout also.

Hopefully some internet research and info from the locals/fishermen at the marinas will help. Have a great trip!

Go down to one of the fish markets and pick up one of the 5 pound Blue Fins they catch and sell over there
