Doesn't look like too many really . Either the Paramount for Mud Hole Ling, or the Dauntless for Sea Bass/Ling... Any other boats fishing bottom, that I am unaware of??.. Don't want to fluke. I really don't want to drive a 9-10 hour round trip, blow $250
[ 2 guys]on gas, food and fares, and catch shorts.. I got a keeper in the Navesink last week on a 8 hp rental boat, so I am pressing my luck for this year with fluke!
Anyway, are there any charters sailing open??.. Other head boats?.. I check the charters and the few that were running 6 packs next few days are all booked up.. You guys are down there, and maybe know something I don't.. Any good ideas would be appreciated... bob

I have fished the Paramount the last 3 weeks. We got a good mix of Sea Bass & Ling last week it was mostly Ling for most. But every trip I did I came with fish my worst trip was 14 Ling & that was last week 1 day off the moon & the tide was roaring that day. The very next day they did very good with a good mix of fish. Picture of a catch from 2 weeks ago.

The Big J has been spending time looking for blues but then switches over to bottom fishing once they give up. They are lucky to have the intel of sister ships already fishing the grounds. Plenty of 6packs available and this isn't the only site that advertises NJ boats so you may wanna do a google search. Is NJ the nearest port to you as compared to Easter end of NY?

I couldn't find any 6 packs with space for tomorrow that are bottom fishing. I tried..
Monmouth county NJ is closer than any NY port, Even Staten Island and City Island are about 220 miles each way.. Perth Amboy is 208, AH is 224, and Brielle/ Point/Belmar are 245-250 miles each way.. Eastern end of LI is 325 miles each way.. Time is always a problem on these trips it seems.. I never can plan correctly as I have to just go when I can, which sadly isn't too often due to distance/fuel costs etc...
I only got the ok from my son yesterday, that he could get a day off to go,
so my options are limited.. I guess I am just not that great of a "plan ahead' type of guy.. Its just not that easy to "jump on a 6 pack", so we usually just sail on whatever boat is bottom fishing.. I wanted to take my own boat for fluke and sea bass, its ready to go, but I recently found out I am breaking NJ law if I launch out of a NJ port to fish.. I really didn't know you had to take a "safe boaters"course in NJ.. We don't have that as yet in NY, but I hear its in the works... anyway, thanks for your reply!.. We'll figure something out and I'll post on the results... bob
