Bass, Pike, and the 1 that Got Away......

Hit the river for a bit today. Decided to "grab" some bait on the way , and saw a deer in the meantime.......

First spot yielded a decent pike. Fought like a champ but not the the beast I was after. Would've stayed longer, except for being "downwind" (:) ) of a rotting cat, lol. So I moved on....... Second spot got me a mean, hard fightin smallie. Good 3#er , nothin else......

Hit my last spot just as the storms where moving in..... Wanted to try a logjam I've been at before.....saved my biggest bait for last. As I'm bringing it in, I felt some tension...... Thinkin I had a snag, and not wanting to loose my last bait, I gave it a slight yank.... Instantly a 5ish pound lmb goes airborne.... Thought I had em, but a bad hookset let em off right at the bank. Jumped in to grab em and he just slipped through my fingers. Would have been the first lmb from the river this year, and the biggest I've seen from there ever.......:eek: Ahhhhhhhhh...... Still a good day though..........

Nice dude. There are definitely good LMB's in the river. My PB came out of the river last year, went a little over 5lbs.

I hit the Shed this AM, real good fishing today, 3SMB- one was a fat 3 lbs, 1 lmb nice fish as well about 3lbs, 2 very big pick, and some extremely aggressive perch. some real big fish today compared to the usual.
