Really, thru hull (drilled hole) transducer. 33 year old Mako and I'd like to replace the transom mount unit with an Airmar B60. Ducer runs $200 and its going to a Garmin 2010c. No touch screen, no interfacing, no frills...but it gets the job done. Guy I've used in the past quoted me 1k with all the parts. I'd rather swim to the bottom every time for that kind of dough, so I'm putting a feeler out for someone willing to do the deed for a couple hundred. I'll supply the unit. PM ME if you're willing or know some one who is.
Deadrise is 20' and I can open a now sealed 12" x 22" hatch for access.

Haven't chopped a hole in a hull yet but I'm fairly positive I can do anything, few tubes of 5200 and an epoxy topper inside...if ya want help, no charge, lemme know..

Thanks for the offer Adam. I drill holes in steel all day, but the idea of just "having at it" with a boat I take out solo occasionally has me hesitant. Might just stick to what I have until I'm forced to upgrade.

I got a killer set of hole saws ;)
I drilled a 3 1/4" hole in the bottom of my boat...... I must admit it doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling but it really isn't any problem as long as you install the transducer correctly.
Let me know if you need a hand.

Your like me, I'm handy but didn't have the guts to do my B60 on a new hull. Try Mike at Shore Thing Electronics. Very good and reasonable.

Yeah man. I've worked in a machine shop for almost 25 years, and hold tolerances to +/-.0002"...but the idea of drilling a hole through my boat scares the shite outta me! Haha!!
Can you PM me Mikes contact info?
Thanks

SUGGESTION.... when you drill through the hull, I personally would do it with the boat OUT of the water.
Just a passing thought. :)
