This is our favorite time of year where we have Shark Tournaments back to back to back....... short summary over three days of fishing we release over 52 sharks with only a couple of mako’s and 1 Thresher. slow year for us and the water 50 out was very green and 5 degrees colder this year than normal. we really didn’t see any signs of tuna or life like we have in years past. At the BTB we only released a small mako and a ton of blue sharks. first day of mako mania we had a ton of blue sharks and one 164lb mako that we thought was going to be a little heavier. day two was slow all day and you'll see that due to the pictures and then we thought we had the right one at 4:30. given our distance from the inlet we knew we had to have this fish in the boat and be running by 5:10. fish made some really incredible runs acting like a much larger fish but at 4:50 we confirmed that it was a thresher which we took for the table. weather was undesirable with no wind but still a great trip...... Thresher weighted in at 303lbs in less than 30 minutes on the incredible TALICA 50 with the JPR Super Seeker stand-ups..... also we had no tackle failures with AFW gear which was a Bonus!
