Trip is limited to 20 people.
This may be the last chance to fish on the Gambler as a group for more than 24 hours as one of the two days is booked and the other 2 are over half full . I hope that I'm on the rotation and get to work it . Isn't this pic. from one of the NJ Fishing trips ?

When you call to make a reservation for this or any other trip with us, please be patient for a return call. My little sis, Lee Ann is taking the calls now but she is also working our galley part time, so it may take up to 24 hours to return your call. She will call you back in the order that she receives the message. Also, good to repeat your phone number twice.

This will be a good trip --always a good time with the NJ crew.

I would think that you keep what you catch ( what's legal ). The fish will be bled, tagged with your #, and put on ice . The crew will loin/collar your catch when the boat returns to port .

It is everyman for himself, but I have never walked off the gambler where someone who did not catch walked off empty handed!!!! They have the best captain and crew!! on the coast. It will be a good trip!! I wish I could join you!!

What kind of gear will I need for a trip like this? I have tile fishing gear capable of deep drop. What other setup do I need?

Ol Pedro
07-03-2013, 03:30 PM
Bring your Tile rod , a Mahi rod , and a 4/0 - 6/0 size set up with 60 or 80 lb. mono . You can rent a chunking rod from the boat . The Gambler doesn't want anyone to use braid to chunk/jig with . For Mahi I like to use a stout spinning set up or my Bluefish/Striper rod . You never know what to expect when your out there . The last 2 day we tried to drift for Tiles but it didn't happen .So we hopped pots for a good catch of Mahi . I have caught tiles in the morning while we were at anchor .

PaBeerGuy
07-03-2013, 03:43 PM
On the Mahi setup, if I go with a spinning setup, what line to go with that?

Ol Pedro

15 to 20 lb. test mono . I use 20 or 30 lb. mono and lift a lot of the chickens .

Will terminal tackle be provided, or do I need to bring my own hooks and rigs? And what kind of rigs will we use? I'll probably have more questions as we get closer.;)

The boat has tackle for sale. You might want to bring your own. Hooks floro leader 40 to 80 lbs. Some jigs if you want to also. Maybe some small egg sinkers for chunking . Also some tile rigs and some small Spros for Mahi.

I'm with the Turansky group. We have been on 2 of the 48hr trips over the last 2 years and cannot wait for this trip. The 2 trips we were on were epic! Over 160 tuna boated combined. The Gambler finds the fish and keeps them around. I've had the please to meet a handful of guys on these trips and have learned a lot. Definitely can't wait to get back on the Gambler and enjoy the time offshore!

I am going on this trlp and I am working on setting up my gear. I have a question - If we do some Tile fishing will Capt Bogan allow us to use Braid on our Tile fishing setups? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm sure you can use braid in the deep for tile. On another note, I am unable to attend this trip and hope you guys nail 'em. I really do.
