Had Tom and his boys on for a half day, morning trip today which was his father's day present from his wife Michele.
Ran back out to the NE where we caught them yesterday and had a very sluggish start, as it took a few minutes to get a few bites going despite some tremendous readings. Got a few keepers, shifted around, got a few more, and picked and plucked away for an hour or so till we made a little move to the south. Finally got into them pretty good with several nice keepers coming up and loads of shorts - we had a real nice flurry for a half hour but they suddenly backed off.
Made another drop on another piece just N of where we were, and had GREAT life under the boat as readings were thick 12' off the bottom - we had lock and load fishing for about 30 minutes with several double headers coming up and even one triple header. By around noon though, that hard S wind and screaming S current pushed us off the piece, and a couple of shots trying to reset on it yielded a few more, but the bite diminished to a very slow pick.
By 1 we were back in the inlet - real good morning of fishing for the guys as they boxed ~60 keeper seabass to around 2.5#, plus loads of shorts. Real nice short trip, and the guys had nice sacks full of meat to take home today!!
