Had Les's group from the DC area - the Fish On! club - for seabassing. Left our slip at 5:30 and found pure mayhem in the inlet with the mako tournaments but finally got out and made our way to our first drop SE of our inlet. Very little life, lots of bergalls, and a couple of keepers. Ran offshore to where we finished up last weekend, and picked about a dozen keepers.
We then ran back north where we started last weekend and finally got a good steady pick going. Fishing a few pieces, the readings were at times solid from the bottom up to 15' off - at times we had doubles flying but they'd back off and we'd have to shift, only to have the same kind of action where we'd slam them for 20 minutes then they'd back off.
Fishing was excellent, with just a few lulls here and there. We wound up boxing the crew their limit of seabass up to around 3# and also had 4 nice ling. We also had about a dozen pout, one 4' silver eel, and a sea raven. The crew was fantastic - and this was another day of triple digit keeper seabass - seabassing is EXCELLENT and we'll be back at it tomorrow :)
