Went out with a small crowd on a mostly nice day until the last 20 mins of fishing when the heavens opened up. Every drop or drift had a pick of sea bass and ling. Many spots equaled pretty good coolers for all. Keeper sea bass were mostly pretty good sized and the ling were mostly mediums. I wound up with 16 keeper sea bass, put 15 down on the boat report sheet but had 32 fillets in my bag, and 6 ling. Blackfish Doug and his brother Dennis had 19 keeper sea bass and 19 ling with a 2 1/2lb pool winner. A beginner couple using rental rods had 10 keeper sea bass and 7 ling. 92 yo Sam Cohen had 5 keeper sea bass and 5 ling. He though fishing was a bit tough, but then again his first trip was with Captain Noah and all they had to do was pick up the fish after the Flood receded.:D

Prior reports picked up from the crew were good sea bassing on Sunday with a few limits and good mixed bag with more ling than we had on the Monday Marathon. As for my friend Sam, he still fondly remembers taking Cleopatra to the prom in his father's chariot.:D

Nothing wrong with that report. Doug, I see a Fluke in your cooler as well. Did you get that keeper at the dock?

If you remember Doug, did you get that four spot offshore or inshore? Same question applies to that keeper fluke caught as well. Can you also tell me the mile range the boat fished for SeaBass and Ling for be entire trip? In appologize for the amount of questions, just curious.

Within sight of land and under 100 feet all day. No fluke caught at the dock. I heard it had been good but myself and another guy had not one bite. I have heard of some blowfish and spot already being caught at the dock.

I love your curiosity but I think you may have a good idea by the info that Tautog gave you. Also & this is not directed at you snaperbluefish101. I have been getting Pm's asking me for numbers. Please don't PM me asking for numbers. I have been getting a few of these type's of PM's. I fish mostly on charters or Party boats so I don't & wont collect numbers. The boats I patronize worked very hard & put in many years on the water just to get what they got. I respect that very highly. I don't own a private boat & I have no desire to ever want to so I don't need numbers.

Doug, I have been doing a lot of observation lately of the movements of fish throughout the seasons of each. Fishing is such a large science. If one is inclined to understand the big picture of this science, by relating chemistry, biology, physics, and the other sciences, one will be the best fisherman they can be, period and end of story!
Sometimes, I really think we as fishermen do not do enough studying, for the better good. That includes myself.
