Had a great day in sandy hook bay. Had 4 keepers up to 21" and some shorts. Was trying to get my limit for the day and found some weakfish. Caught 3 of them up to 4 pounds along with two croakers. Weather was nice and drifting conditions were good. Fished in the afternoon until just before dark. Used usual gulp on a teaser and 1 ounce bucktail in chartreuse. Weakfish liked the white mullet gulp.

One of my buddy's brothers' was out in a tin boat fishing right in SH bay yesterday and had about a dozen croakers. I didn't believe it till I saw the pics. It's truly bizarre to see croakers that far north this early in the season. New breeding ground?
We caught them good in the late 90's right up here outside our inlet, real slab sized croakers in the 2-3# range and then after maybe 03' they disappeared.
BTW nice job.

Had some really small fish had maybe 15 or so shorts. The fish were either big or small.

I used to catch Croakers, kingfish & perch off the keansburg pier a long, long time ago.
To give you an idea of how long ago it was. We used to catch them in the center of the circle that the taxis & the little train used when they were picking up or dropping off fares for the City of Keansburg.
