On the way down, I picked up some really great quality killies at Atlantic Bait and Tackle. There was not a runt in the batch. Three of us fished on my friend's boat. Once on the water, we fished the end of the outgoing near the pier for a total of two 8" fluke. Our next stop was in 15' on the Knoll where I caught our first keeper and a couple of shorts. The tide and wind did not give us a great drift so we tried down the beach a bit. There was some action on shorts in 25 feet but nothing to set the world on fire. Smooth dogfish were a problem and long drifts did not pinpoint any concentrations of fluke. We moved to the edge of the Swash for a decent pick of fluke after lunch. The party boats were moving to find fish and a drift but not too many nets were working. The water was not as bad as I thought. It wasn't too dirty considering. I did better than my two friends by using a Tsunami facet jig 18 incbes on the bottom of a three-way with a 6" Gulp curly tail attached. The majority of the fluke hit the killie at the end of a 36" leader with a short octopus skirt covering it. My total was 20 fluke with 4 keepers. The boat finished with 6 keepers. Thanks Foggy Notion for the suggestion. By the way, the green channel marker at the tip of the false hook is almost on the beach. There must have been quite a bit of sand deposited on that point because I'm sure they didn't move the buoy.
