Caught a couple fluking yesterday. The orange sacks inside is it the roe? I want to try frying with rest of fish.

Yes indeed.
Very very VERY tasty fried up, and dipped in sweet chili lime sauce.
*I'd personally pan fry it though and not deep fry.

Very good to eat. Pan fried with a lemon, butter wine sauce. Just make sure the roe wasn't pierced during the fish cutting process or it will all come apart.

I believe all roe is good--even bluefish!!! Think about it, roe has never hatched so it hasn't acquired any oily taste(bluefish) or any other taste peculiar to the caught fish...Yes, best pan fried as tautog said....don't use the milt from the male fish...LOL...

I tried winter flounder roe many yeas ago... yuck.. I seem to recall it tasted extremely fishy , and had the texture of beach sand...

Try the ling roe with a some onion and bacon and a little salt and pepper. Has a creamy texture and a slightly nutty taste.

Give the mate an extra ten bucks and have him pick out the choice roe from fish that were well iced. You should have a nice bag full back at the dock. I have had sea bass and ling roe, both are good, never tried flounder roe. My dad is a big roe fan, better ask him if he wants any on Tuesday.
