Was wondering how everyone else finds the fishing after a big storm like the one we just had. I know the rivers will be swollen and many unfishable, but I thought the lakes would be fine, so I hit SR last evening with great anticipation. We spent 6hrs on the water with just 2 very light hits on herring and none on lures. We put a light out to draw herring which usually works very well with no luck. The light was drawing activity on the fish finder, but nothing near the surface. Anyway in hindsight I think I should have completely changed tactics and went to the creek mouths and fished with crawlers. Talking to a couple other boaters coming off the water around midnight, bad luck seemed to be universal. I see on the board mixed results. The solunar table for last night was as high as its ever been and that didn't pay off. ( not a real believer anyway and now more so). So what do some of you other guys think about fishing after a big storm? Any suggestions other than stay home?

I caught 7 small fish in a muddy, flooded lake yesterday, 5 on small jigs and 2 on corn meal. Fish were swirling, but action was slow.

After all that rain, its safe to say that the water was murky and all stirred up everywhere. Id love to be fishing the mouths of some river today if i had the opportunity. I drove by a few rivers and small lakes yesterday and they looked horrible. Probably take another day for things to get back to normal.

Kinda the same way at the Valley last night, Few fish breaking but not much action at all. Got one quick then that was it pretty much for the night. Figured it's a pretty large lake so maybe not affected as much by the storm.
Thought about Spruce last night too, guess no matter where you were for the most part not too productive.

Same here. Hit the shed for a few hours last night lookin for toothies. Water was murky but I was happy to see bait on the surface. However, they seemed to be feeding, not being fed upon. Got the skunk but hard to say if it was the conditions or just a normal day of musky fishing, lol.........

Beat the hell outta trout on Culvers Lake Brook and the LFB on Sat. Did the same on the BFB on Sun. Far too many to even bother trying to keep track of. Tons of wild brooks among the state fish on LFB, all 3 species of state fish along with a few wild brooks and browns on BFB.
