Went out to test a new prop yesterday and saw the research boat out taking samples, hopefully it will be a go, those back channels are nasty

Going through the same thing at the channel leading into Leonardo State Marina and we had documented issues even before Sandy... It's a long process D, to include a sounding survey and sediment testing. As you can imagine, the Army Corps who does the dredging and the NJ DEP who does the sediment testing are overwhelmed with all the post Sandy issues. I'm told the NJDEP takes 4 - 7 months just to get the sediment results.

Just don't want you or others thinking this is going to happen overnight D. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Yup. Rumor from a local mayor was that June 1st was the start date...

Ive seen the dredge ship at the inlet all the time lately hopefully they start with that back channel not only dredge it but widen it a bit so it doesnt just fill back in. The whole back could use a good dredging would make fishing a lot better in SR for the tin boats and also would increase rental boat activity and you would get better fluke to stay in there.

Ya we've seen the dredge there too, every time we pass by I keep yelling at them that they are in the wrong channel!!
