Had a handful of faithful who showed up today hoping to get that last shot at the Stripers on the morning trip. We didn't end it with a doughnut and managed some keepers and action on Blues, Fluke, Sea Bass and Tog.

The guys who I thought would catch, didn't (Tom, Rich, Kirt, Billy) no last names!:D

My cigar pal "Charles" landed a nice keeper, lost a beauty when he couldn't stop it and the hook pulled.
Pretty funny story.... Charles hands me his Rod, say's, show me something Capt. (knowing conditions suck) with the current running to the bow and all odds against me, I take his rod, cast it out, after 5 minutes Charles starts talking SH**! In the same breath as I'm taking it, he says, "Now you know how I feel when your up top doing that Sh** to me!!! LOL:)
That made my day and the end of the Spring Striper season, 2013!! Some great catches, Happy customers and the Big fish Pool winner Chris Zotti with his 23.6 pounder. Congratulation's Chris.....unfortunately, the Gov has claimed all the money in taxes, but you still get the glory.............!!

Fluke fishing everyday, after the nasty weather the next two days get's outta here. Capt. Dan will still be bass fishing on the evening trips.

Congradulations Chris Zotti. Well deserved. Good things happen to good people. The day Chris caught that fish it was a close one for the pool. He hooked up again at the whistle with another good fish and instead of reeling the fish in, he didn't hesitate to hand the pole off to a young kid who had asked to drop in next to us in the stern. Gestures like that too often go unnoticed and its nice to see the season pool go to him even though I don't think it really mattered much to him anyway judging from his actions that day. It was a pleasure to fish with ya Chris and again congradulations you deserved it.

you dont know how right you are about chris, i was on my way to the mimi in point pleasent at 5 in the morning it was still dark, i realized i took the wrong turn, went to put my brakes on and they were gone. I was scared to tears, i ended up at the belmar boats and could not find my way back, in tears i called chris zotti who was on the sea devel down the street from the mimi, he told me to stay where i was, he left the boat got in his car and came and rescued me, i will never forget get the releaf i felt when i saw him pull up, he was, is, and always will be my hero and a great friend. he is truley one of a kind (and a great fishermen to boot:D )
