Seems like they all went north for the summer. I fished the D&R Canal every day this past week and for a few hours both weekend days and caught no trout.
I didn't see or hear of anyone else catching any either. I caught fish, a few crappies, small bass, and sunfish but not one trout, not even a hit. Now we all know they put what more than 29,000 trout in there so where did they all go? They last two I caught were Memorial Day. I've yet to see dead trout floating so they must be someplace. I even wrote an email to F&G last year and was told, " They will seek cold water". How? There is as far as I know, no way out of the feeder canal unless they swim all the way up to the main Canal then up to the Raritan River.
