Started at Belmar(Shark River Inlet) around noon at beginning of incoming. South wind honking had us chilly even though 2 miles inland it was hot. First two throws of some small metal(deadly dick) were great as I landed two cocktail blues. good start. Next hour or so only yielded 2 more fish - I belive they were hickory shad. More blues caught around me toward the tip of the jetty. Tried some gulp for any fluke that may be around but it was a hassle with a ripping incoming and Bennies casting all over the place and letting their lines run in front of me...and letting them stay there. Grrrr.

Took a break and made a drive north to Allenhurst. Plugged right before the storm...nada. Waited it out and got right back on the rocks...the jetty jockeys came out in force as the nasty weather had passed. But to no avail. Bucktails, shad, plugs...everyone around was mixing it up and trying all depts of the water column in what looked like great bass water. No dice. Great day on the water...and the anticipation of bass swirling up to a topwater has me wanting to back ASAP. Hope you all fared better than I did.

On way out had to call 911 - some poor 16 year old kid lost balance on her bike and slammed head hard on the curb. had a helmet on but her head, neck and back were in bad pain. neck brace, stretcher and off to the hospital she went. kind of scary. It was one of those moments when you realize the helmet laws likely saved a cracked skull or worse.

I live by the Allenhurst Jetty and other then a 90 second wild blitz at 5am one morning, the past week has been terrible. Hoping the wind change this week starts warming up the water and gets the fish coming in and biting again
