What do you think about this wind finally switching this week? Think the bass bite will pick back up?

.
doesnt appear the winds are going to stay constant for what we need oceanside
we need a west or NW for a week to turn the cold water back over.
while surface temps are showing mid 50's right below it is like ice water.
Bunker come out of the net feeling like blackfish caught mid winter.
hate to say it but my bet is alot of the better fishing has passed us by, with the fish staying well outside the fence

Water temp at the rocks this morning was reportedly 49*
The seabass, ling, and blackfish we were pulling up 7 miles off in 70' yesterday were ice cold, especially when that current started moving.
I sure hope things improve but we need that W wind and less S current.

So a wind from the south doesn't necessarily blow warmer water up from the south?

No it creates upwelling and makes the water significantly colder. S winds almost always negatively affect inshore fishing.

Saw that last night and my response was identical to yours lol. I was excited to see wnw 5 to 10 all week and then BLAM! I guess the only bonus to this is a slow increase in water temps which keep fish in the bays longer unlike last year when the water heated up so quick it drove the fluke deep and offshore in search of cooler temps.
