Hit the water today with my friend Jake in hopes of landing the first striper ever on my boat. With less then stellar reports we knew it would be tough but it only takes a few hungry ones to have a good trip. Broke SRI inlet and went north around 2:30pm. Didn't have to drive far before we started seeing bunker breaking water, not in large pods but a few here and there. Got a few pieces of bait in the well and started looking for a few reads. Set up and within 15 minutes Jake set the hook on a nice 40 pound bass. Bounced around for a while till we got more reads and we got two more bass in the boat at 30 pounds. Took a slow ride home due to the head sea and saw some of the best reads of the day/year but not time or bait to and hook up again. Nice day on the water and finally got a bass on the boat. Overall we went 3 for 4 on nice large bass missing one only due to equipment/user error.
