A great trip to Keyport turn into a disaster thanks to a few jerks who saw fit to steal my lower unit from my Yamaha 250 4 stroke. They also took my 9.9 kicker. The boat was parked in the lot at the Best Western in Hazlet. If any of you fisherman have any information call the Hazlet County Police. We had great time fishing for blues on Wednesday evening and all day Thursday. We planned to fish Friday and leave for Manassas Virginia Saturday morning. It’s amazing no one saw them remove the items since the boat was parked in front in view of the front desk……I believe there was some inside knowledge someplace. My friend boat was parked next to mine but his was a small aluminum with an older 90 Johnson…..they knew what to take…..
I also had a flat tire when I came off the Jersey Turnpike. Put the spare on and Thanks to Pep Boys had a new tire on in time to fish Wednesday evening. I had the tire checked at NTB before I left…..some checking ……well things in life happen. Duck and Cover from this board told me he read my post when we talked at Pep Boys…..Maybe you guys can help stop this crap….ruins many a fishing trip. See Pics….thanks for those who gave me some information on fishing. Sorry need help with posting pics....

I drove up 35 on Weds night to do a quick night job and noticed the boat with Kicker on it around 9 pm so it must have been sometime after that. No security cameras in the parking lot???

They said no but my have at Friendly....police will check....that was my boat.
They broke one kicker lock so the motor will be missing one and have only a stub....that's something they can't fix.

Used to leave my poles in the boat when I went into Fred's on RT. 35 for bait. No more I remember the the guy who had a custom rod made for his wife, went in for coffee at a convience store and when he came out it was gone. Fished many years up at Crotch Lake in Ontario and you just leave all your stuff in the boat all week. Wonder if it is still like that in Canada. Around here stuff is gone in a heartbeat.

Thanks to all the fishermen in NJ who responded to my inquiries about fishing....I don't judge all by the single action of a few.....Hope to be back up next God willing.....I'm pushing 75 and must take advantage of every opportunity to fish. If anyone comes across a Yamaha 9.9 kicker with a broken mount and a handle filled with clear silicone and a high thrust prop...it's mine....call the local police. The crowl has some paint missing but it was seldom used.
Tight lines..

was that the great looking graddy white? i live down the street and ever since 9-11 when people moved out of the city. it's horrable. my van was broken into behind my shop that was in the dunkin donuts right next store to the hotel, took every thing. my car gets rummaged through a few times a year, just happend last week, i had hand prints all over my windows that i could count the rings in them, cops said werent clear enough:eek: one time a coustomer pulled up front and ran the dog in, m#x#e# got and and drove away with it, cop told her thats what she gets for leaving the keys in it. (nice) found it the next day in keyport with the m####n trying to put it in reverse and didnt know how to, the cop could not be bothered getting out of the car so he was able to run away. unfortunalty nothing will be done about it, still waiting for them to take a report on my van, only been 5 years since it happend:confused: . that hotel is a rat hole, dirty, smelly and the water heater is always out and guests have to take cold showers:(. they only care about the money and nothing else. i feel terrable for you and hope you get your stuff back. the sad part is this crap happens every day and nobody does any thing about it. sorry for the rant, but it realy burns me up, this crap has been going on for years:mad:
