Relentless Charters

Today it was once again to have on board the Callas brothers, Will and George who usually charter the entire boat by themselves and request we find someone else who likes to go fishing which is very generous of them. Today we invited Charlie Maxon, Captain Curt’s dad, a salty Retired Navy veteran who makes sinkers for those RELENTLESS anglers who like to bounce the bottom with fresh sea clams. Gillis, the RELENTLESS first mate would be King of the Cockpit today and do his usual stellar job baiting hooks, gaffing fish and keeping those Callas brothers entertained.
After getting underway we were greeted by the Army Corp of Engineers Dredge Currituck which is a hopper dredge designed to suck coble, sand and the gravel that has filled in the channel leading into Green Harbor. Our ride out was a bit choppy with an easterly swell as Gillis tied rigs and everyone got to know each other.
Once we arrived on the east side of Stellwagen Bank we stopped at a set of numbers which have been productive even though you have to fight through the shorts to put legal cod and haddock into the box.
George, Will and Charlie had bent rods most of the day fishing fresh sea clams rigged on a high low rig to a 20 oz bank sinker.

This proved productive as the fish came over the rail at a steady pace keeping Gillis busy as usual. By the days the guys had legal limits of cod and a single haddock and pollock sending everyone home with fish for the dinner table and was thrilled to get offshore fishing once again.
I want to thankWill and George for fishing with us once again on board RELENTLESS CHARTERS for some great deep sea fishing off of Massachusetts. I hope we see them again for another trip this season and certainly hope they enjoy the fish they hauled aboard today. I also hope they have a great season with their boat while fishing out of Montauk this year.
Relentless Charters has open dates available for shared and private charters in June and July weather you prefer to fish for cod, haddock, Pollock, tuna, bass or shark. We are a full service charter boat and will go the extra mile to make sure your trip is excellent and a memorable one. The best way to book your trip or make an iquiry is to contact Relentless Charters at captdave@relentlesscharters.com
