NY Fluke Limit

Got up at 03:30 and made the trip to Greenport Long Island to fish a NS boat with my son. Nice conditions and drift all day for 8 fares. I limited out with 4 fish to 24 inches. My son had a tough day with PLENTY of shorts. He tried several rigs, jigs, teasers, bait, and gulp. Finally went old school and with just a piece of squid and a green skirt boxed a nice fat 23 incher right at the whistle. Pool fish was over 7 pounds and there were several fish over the 6 pound mark. Pink and green were the hot colors but you know tomorrow it will be something different. We also picked up some bluefish and scup. The scup were real nice 2 pounders. Big and fat. Now to bed!

Going out to Montauk to fish Friday and Saturday with Jamie for Fluke. Weather looks good. While I have everything in my Fluke bag, I am starting off with whole squid. They are chasing that bait which has produced some nice size fish. I cannot wait to boucne the rod and have it stop!

fished a ns out of center moriches twice since opening day of ny. bay fishing, 4 feet of water, fish to 7lbs already. ny is different animal. big fish, early.

There were some real quality fish caught and the captain said it was only going to get better as there was a big body of fish working their way in from Montauk. Can't wait for the season to open down here.
