I know there's not much call for it these days, but thats how it was done in spring for years when the bass weren't near as thick as they are now.. I suppose I could be wrong, but I would bet it would still be pretty effective.. Drifting weakfish style with a 3x3 rig with a jelly worm or GULP worm and a whole sandworm on the same hook... I guess those days are over, but we used to catch a lot of fish that way... bob

Gulp Sandworms have been working, but why not use what they are feeding on right now? Clams and Bunkers are the hot ticket.

Cut my striper teeth (so to speak) drifting big sandworms on a 3 x 3 rig through the Sandy Hook Rips (are the rips still even there) at night as well as in the Shrewsbury River.

In the beginning I was using worms, but clams are killing it and it's a fraction of the price.....no driving on anchor and clams are twenty bucks a bag

Why waste the gas? Anchor up start chumming and start hauling them in!

Clams and Bunker is the way to go rite now.. They are all over em!! Friend of mine fished in NY.. They were drifting worms and did not catch a single bass on the head boat.. So id say.. Go with what is working like Capt Ron said..
