Great action in Raritan Bay

Fished with a buddy out of staten island today, had excellent action up to about 40 minutes before slack tide (we got out there about 8:40), and within 45 minutes after dead low we had non-stop action on chunks until we had to leave (around 2pm). We kept 3, released 4, lost a few at the boat, and lost some as well. We switched to circle hooks once we had enough in the box since the fish were inhaling our baits. Largest fish went just over 26 lbs, which my wife claims was the one she caught, but hers came in second just over 23 (she's had one bigger than that). We fished raritan bay, about a mile west of where the old orchard light used to be.
