Went carp fishing with saxmatt and my friend Zach. Was friggen awesome. I learned so much from Matt... such a wealth of knowledge on fishing for these beasts. I had never caught a carp before, and in my first day of fishing for em I caught a sub-10 lb, a 19 lb, and a 30 lb fish! Each one of those fish was bigger than any fish I had ever caught before. Not a bad start to carp fishing!!! All together we got around 12 carp or so along with a bunch of small cats. Matt reeled in a bunch of teens, and Zach got a nice one near 20. Funny story about Zach's fish: His baitfeeder wasn't functioning properly and so when the fish hit it pulled the rod right into the water. Without hesitation Zach runs into the water (wearing khakis and sneakers) up to his knees to grab his rod before it was gone forever. Zach has always said that if his rod goes into the water, he's going in after it. It wasn't until today that I saw how true that really was lol

A big thanks to Matt for taking us out and teaching us the ways of carp fishing. He's put in a ton of effort and hours figuring out where and how to catch these giants, and I am grateful for all his help. I owe you my catches Matt.

Awesome haul! I need to learn the ways. Every time I'm fishing I always see huge carp and am never prepared to catch them. What rod/line wt did you use?

Still can't believe you got a 30 on your first day out. I know some guys who have put in a lot of time there and still haven't hit a 30. Congrats again, I'll post a few more pics later. Now you have to get a 40!
