Blues usually follow after Striper fishing comes into it's own so I think you will need to wait a while until you can put a consistnet catch together. Every year is different but they seem to start up late May and really turn on in June when the water warms up.

Rumor has it that someone was snagging bunker and reeled in a bunker with a bite out of it in the Raritan bay..... didn't see it myself but that's what I heard.

Got my first blue on April 20th in the bay last year. But key words are last year... everything was early in 2012. Probably a little more time before they're worth persuring. But then again, it's never a bad idea to fish.
