My brother died two weeks ago. Since we had no idea of how many would show we could not book a room. They expected minimums of 30 people.
so we arranged to have a nearby diner set aside and area and called from graveyard with approx headcount. They set up a side room for us.
That's a thought and worked for us. We ended up with 25 and Big Stash looking for guaranteed 30 ended up with $0
i did not know the guy, but he sure did have a lot of people here who did.

Tom,
very often Fire Houses have halls for rent at a reasonable price. Also, many churches rent out Fellowship halls - also for very little. Might be a nice way to keep it in the community.

Know anybody the belongs to the Knights of Columbus? They would help out a member regardless of the council they belong to.

Sacred Heart in Bay Head I believe has a hall too. http://sacredheartbayhead.com/index.htm

thanx guys ...will pass along all suggestions.....
Being from PA, don't know the area well. Nor did I know the deceased, God rest his soul.
But it is uplifting to see how so many in this community band together to try and help in difficult times... it is truly great to see.
Just wanted to share that.

Not sure of the firs houe on Atlantic Ave in manasquan but I know they have a huge hall there, right off of 34 South by Brians Car Dealership, just up the street from the Atlantic Club, I would offer to see if the BHSPOA club is functional but I don't think the catering hall side will be open for another few months due to storm damage.
Anyhow when you do find a place, please pass along the info I know a lot of guys here that would like to pay their respects.
