After commenting on this board all winter, I finally got a chance for an actual report. I dropped the yak in at my usual spot last night around 5:30 and paddled up river about quarter mile, then drifted about 3/4 of a mile down past my drop in. I had a couple missis on spinner baits, but no hook ups. I was discouraged and it was getting dark so I started the slow troll back up river and finally this guy hit a spinner bait on the troll. Not the evening I was anticipating but at least I avoided the skunk.

Good stuff man, that fat winter skunk flew off the yak and is now wedged into a shopping cart or old television now!

A lot of times, when nothing else is working, I have hooked up while trolling back. Not my fav way to catch, but a great way to beat the skunk.
