and now the rest of the story..........
Doug and I left early hoping to find some bass. Stopped by Atlantic Highlands bait and tackle to get outfitted by Pete. As always Pete knows how to take care of his costumers! He set us up with clams, shells, worms and some great advice.
Hit the ramp at keyport marine basin and we were off. following petes advice, we picked our spot, marked it and made a circle around it while dumping shells, we then achored up in the middle of the circle and put lines in the water. 20 miutes later my rod tip bends and it was game on! got the fish to the side of the boat, saw it was close and called doug for the net. low and behold it JUST made 28 inches. Took a pick and decided to put her back for Karmas sake. Unfortunatly Karma was not on our side, as that was the only bite of the day. the good news is it was me and not doug:D
water was still 45 in the back bay, will try to get the shrimp out again next week with better results.
PS: after getting home and cleaning the boat, I grabbed my son and hit the river for a few quick trout. I doesnt get any better.

Nice job!!! How was the ramp at key port? Will it handle a 25 foot boat.

The ramp was slick and not in the greatest shape. No cleats to tie off on, but they did install some before we got back. Coming in at dead low tide wasn't fun either as there were some spots that we marked at approx less than 2'. Hope that helps!

I think it would be a little tight, but i would call and ask their opinion. It's tough finding a decent place to launch these days. I can't wait for AH to open.
