We headed out on our first trip of the season with an all star crew consisting of damnyankee, jigemup, John, Gary and myself with Capt. Tommy at the helm. Expectations were low with the water temps being so cold, but we wanted to make an exploratory trip to see what, if anything, was out there.
The day started off on the slow side with only a keeper cod in the boat after the first couple of hours, but then at around 9 o'clock, the tog started to come out and play! The rest of the day consisted of about a dozen tog (some keeper-size and all safely released), a couple of cod and a few big doggies.
All in all, it was a great day on the water with a fun group of guys and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Things should only get better from here on out as the water warms up.
We still have a few spots left on our open boat trips this Friday and Saturday. Please feel free to contact me if interested.
