Anybody else get a call saying your name was picked as the big winner from the fishing expo?

I just got a call. Googled the company, JCS Enterprise, and it looks like its a timeshare company who wants you to to listen to one of their speeches and then commit to buying into their program.

It's a scam, don't even bother picking up the phone! The number that called me was from New Hampshire and its 603-366-2612.

Check this post http://www.ripoffreport.com/jcs-enterprises/sales-people/laconia-new-hampshire-871ed.htm

It must have been from the main prize entry when you walked in or Dick's sporting goods entry because I only entered one other entry at the Gambler.

I knew it was too good to be true, I used up my winning luck a few years ago, haha!

It is not a scam, it is a marketing type of give away, i got the same thing, call and head to it, you will get free air line tickets that are REAL and not fake, these big companies put forth millions upon millions of dollars to market they time share, if you dont buy, they still give you what you want.. Do it, it works.

They told me that I get free airfare from them but have to pay for the hotel through their travel agents in order to get them. Doesn't make sense for me to get it because I own a vacation package already otherwise it might be a good idea.

I know someone who got them and used them, just booked air fare through the travel agency, i was never told i had to pay for hotel, just got the airline tickets and i was assuming maybe taxes and such.. who the heck knows. lol

Similar thing happened to me a couple years ago...Wife entered a drawing for a Lexus, got a call that we didnt win the car but we we did win a $1000.00 worth of merchandise. Well when we went to pick it up we had to sit thru a 30 minute dog and pony show about a time share then they told us we could pick out of a catalog a $1000.00 worth of stuff but we had to pay the shipping and handling which was so inflated it would have been cheaper to just buy the stuff on our own, and by this point they had our address and phone # and nagged me for almost year after!

There's a sucker born every minute. Call them back and try to sell them Amway. The challenge is to see how long you can keep them on the phone. It's really fun.

Everybody who enters eventually is called and told they are a "winner". Once I filled out a slip for my girlfriend's dog and even he was called.

All i can say is a friend of my fathers got the airline tickets, and took his family to hawaii with them.. worth a shot, not everything is bs and sometimes it works out well!

I gave up filling out any entries to win anything at all these shows after I had to put up with the marketeers a couple of years ago, hounding me... they were relentless and the only way of getting rid of her was just hanging up on her!!

Scam.. I dont even bother.. They sell your info to places so they can hound you about all kinds of crazy stuff.. They say you get all this free stuff but will have to pay some weird charge that works out to the be the same price as the package they claim you won..

I only filled out the Dick's Sporting Goods card at the entrance. I didn't use a credit card to buy my tickets. I also didn't put my email address on their entry card for this very reason; just my phone number contact if I won. I even heard one guy ask them about their privacy policy and if they sell off contact info! Wait till next year's show when we meet again! ;)

sorry to bump this from the dead, but wanted to post an update.

after 3 months of phone calls, even after i told them to STOP calling me, i finally gave in and listened to the caller. it was a timeshare sales pitch. my wife and i ventured to atlantic city, knowing full and well we weren't buying anything. went to the flagship hotel and let the guy go through his whole pitch, totally leading him on like we were going to purchase the deal. it actually was a great deal if you have an extra $400 a month plus $6000 down! got to the end and he asked us if we liked the deal and we told him we can't afford anything which is the truth. he brought in a "manager" who gave us a better deal, followed by 2 more managers with even better deals! they ended up at $179 a month! (still can't afford that!!)

so, we walked out with 4 round trip airlines tickets (with minimum night stays in their travel agency's hotels) a 2 night, 3 day mini-vacation at their hotels, meal vouchers to use at the Flagship and $600 in coupons to use at the Outlets. We were there for 3 hours, but only because we played the game. Also left the casinos up $22, which never happens!! Haha!

So, we'll see how this goes when we try to book. We had wanted to return to Hawaii, so getting FREE plane tickets to Oahu will make it totally worth while. Overall, very little pressure, the sales people were very nice and respectful and it would have been a great deal if we had any money!
