I hit the Paramount for the first time, for their 6:30a.m.-3:30p.m. Cod and Ling Trip. Leifyboy has a cold, so I ended up by myself. We did have a nice light crowd of only 16 fares, which made fishing comfortable.
Capt. Francis tried many spots on the most northern inshore edge of the hole. Some produced, while others yielded the only the endangered species.I was happy to see the amount of Cod that was at each spot, as there was about 20 or so caught today, with 4 only keepers and one taking the pool at about 8 lbs. As for the Ling, most had three, two, one, or none. One pair had 16 combined.
I had 4 Ling, a short Cod(20 inches), and a Blackfish that went about 8lbs. Talk about surprise!
Nice day on the water. It looks like I didn't do too bad, since the Ling fishing has been mediocre lately. Some fare on the boat had one or none.
It was great meeting Mike, the boat's only mate for day. One of the friendliest and hardest working mates I have seen in a long time. Thanks to you and Capt. Fran for a nice day.
