Great job. My record is 8.5 pounds off of Block Island. 2nd best, 7.5 pounds on the same trip. Honestly this was all in the 2012 fluke season. The other poll I meant to say was how well in NJ did you do. But I know that at least 75% of you gave me how well in just NJ.

10.6 pounds.. We had a charter with all sharpies.. Nothing really for me to do work wise so i got the chance to drop a line.. Right in front of the hook.. Buck tailing.. On gulp.. Felt like i was snagged until the head shake began.. Ran 2 times back to the bottom before Capt Joe was able to net the beast..

August 2, 2010, Manasquan Inlet, dead low tide, on the wall, 12-1/2 pounds, 32-1/2". My first post on this site. Fish weighed at Alex's bait n Tackle, Inlet Drive. Picture still hanging up in store(at least is was before Sandy). Thank god a net was handy. Fish made 3 runs, 20 minutes from hook up to net.

Fun poll. Got my personal best up in Hyannis this past summer. On the hand scale she weighed 12.2 immediately after being landed. It was gaffed at 9:00am and bled out quite considerably over the course of the day. By the time I got her officially weighed the following morning, the doormat was #11.55. Either way, I don't think I'll be duplicating that catch anytime soon.

My first trip ever to SH Reef was in 2001 with my Father on hot August day. We lost a lot of rigs, but totally forgot about that when I landed a 8.5 lb fluke on a live snapper.

12.13lbs. Live snapper. 1st in community tourney about 14 or 15 years ago. I think we had 47+ lbs total of five fish. My buddy dropped one at the side of the boat right after that. Had mine beat! Live snapper too.

PB are nice; even better if on the "right" day! ...but u "no" the old saying, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

consistently catching quality-size fish is the key. they move, conditions change and how they're chewing vary and the fisherman must adapt.

that all said and admitting that while i enjoy the run of a striper.............the HEAD SHAKE of a fluke and knowing that if you don't do everything right or she gets off (coupled with the warmth of fishing in shorts) makes this my favorite specie to fish for.

they aint bad eating either

Somewhere between 9.8, and 10.1. I tell everybody it was a 10.
July of 2010. Off Sandy Hook near the candlesticks. I have pictures.

Kneeling next to the gunnel. Crappy old scale. The fish started to shake
and I was shaking too from excitement. I thought he was gonna go over the side.
Into the fishbox he went. Then the high-fives were exchanged.
My brother and another friend are witnesses. Don't know why we never weighed him again at the dock. Maybe to allow him to grow over the years.:) :)

Have been fluke fishing on and off for quite a while. Some years more than others depending on work and family obligations.
Got a few 6's & 7's over time.
On my bucket list is a 12 pounder. Maybe this year.

Tight lines all.

I like this poll, it puts my 6.5# PB (weak, I know) in the same category as legit doormats.
