That's an easy one for me. Carp caught in the passaic on the opening day of trout season last year. Wish I had the link but a buddy's got the whole video of the fight on his phone. Fish went about 35lbs or so. Best fight in the fresh by far considering it almost spooled me and I still managed to land it. I guess that's why they call it the "poor mans bonefish"!

10# rainbow trout.. Got her on the musconetcong river down in hackettown.. During the fall stocking.. 2 years ago on the fly rod.. It was an amazing fight.. Fish ran so far up river i had to follow it before it spooled me.. Same day my father got a 9# brown trout on 4lbs test line.. It was a banner day!

This is my biggest freshwater fish. Sadly, I did not get a measure. The big girl gave me a lot of problems in the net and by the time I got the hooks cut, I was more concerned with letting her go than getting a measure. Plus, it was only the 5th musky I had ever caught at the time and I had no idea how big it was until I showed the guys in the club. A lot of musky sharpies told me this was most likely a 50+ inch fish and it was probably over 35 pounds.

Like most, my biggest FW fish was a Carp... Never weighed one, but I have caught some huge ones in Cayuga Lake and the Susquehanna River up here.
Several honorable mentions however...
My biggest Brown Trout was 11 lbs, caught on a white painted 1 oz wheel weight off a car.
Couple of Tiger Muskies in the 38 in, 12-13 lb range.. one caught on a 1/32 oz Crappie jig...
Couple of 8 lb + Landlocked Atlantic Salmon out of Cayuga,.. Thats pretty big for this species.
Couple Channels Cats in the 10 lb range..
22 in, 7 lb + LMB...
Pretty mundane really, but at the time they all looked like whales to me...bob

I have had some big carp through the years and got a really nice striper on the Raritan in South Bound Brook a few years ago. Biggest recently would have to be the Cat fizzzzzz.

I would have to say a 25 to 35 pound salmon caught in Oswego 25 or so years ago. Lately a 20+ inch trout caught Feb 2012 on the Pohat.
Great thread.
This is a fishing sit Andy how about getting a fishing avatar, like me.:D

13.6 lb LMB from Lake Fork TX...no pic, caught in late 90's and have caught many 30LB+ flathead cats on limb-lines and jugs in the south. These of course were caught before the age of electronic pictures etc. Coming to grips with the new technology now is still on the horizon for me and a work in progress, but value all the great pictures on this thread! Got ole stories and lots of memories, pictures rule the day now. Once apon a time there was such a thing as the "Kodaic" Curse...bring a camera and, well ya know, you don't capture the moment cause of the CURSE! . Just saying.
