Noticed Nomahegan Park being dredged the last cpl of weeks some others in Union Cty also. Wrote fish and game to see if they could stock LB and others when completed.
Great pond for the kids to fish.

I noticed that too...They started that project sometime in oct,nov...
Lots of memories there....I grew up in union county and this is where i taught myself to fish for bass in the early nineties:)

I haven't gotten a good answer (probably for lack of asking the right people) when that project is going to be finished or exactly what they're doing. I run in that park and drive by every so often, and I can't tell if they're dredging or repairing the walkway/shoreline. I sincerely hope it doesn't hurt the fishing. The carp fishing in there is phenemonal. It's a pleasure to be able to drive 5 minutes from my house and hook into a 20-pound fish.

I drive by that park three times a week and I really can't figure out what they are working on in the park. I think catfish has a point about expanding the walkways because they are concentrating on one part of the lake and not the street side. Either way, I hope it is ready by spring- my son and I have fished that spot a few times last year.

Drive by it all the time. Witnessed the back hoe in the lake pulling sludge and garbage off the bottom and loading it into a dump truck. I have not got any answers either but do believe they are making it deeper and working on a new drainage design so that area of Cranford doesn't get flooded out next time we get a major storm. Hopefully the fishery survives whatever they are doing.

I messaged union county parks this week asking the same thing. If I hear anything I'll keep you guys posted. That little lake made going to UCC worth it.
Moved to Bloomfield now so I'm looking for essex county honey holes this spring but I'm sure I will find my way down there again.
