Currently on the Excel for a 9 day trip out of Cabo. First day was fun with a bunch of smaller fish (30-60#) Second day was slower but as evening came so did the cows.I got my best yellowfin so far (251#) on a Black Hole 350g acid wrap and an Avet HX Raptor. Last night had a brief flurry and we went 3 for 10 with one gentleman being spooled on an Accurate 30.So far today is also slow...Lots of fish being marked but they just seem to have lock jaw.

A trip on the Excel is on my bucket list for sure. I just got to win a lottery to afford it. Nice job on the fish if only dreams can come true.

The Raptor held up just fine I had it filled with 550yds of 80# FINS metered hollow with a BHP 100# 25' windon and a 10/0 mustad hook with a live squid. She took about 300yds at 32# of drag and she turned after a few seconds at full( roughly 48#) Kept in low gear for the whole fight(approx. 30 min)Very pleased with this reels performance and even more impressed with my MXL Raptor as it easily handled multiple fish in the 90-100# class
