1-27 Offshore Sea Bass Report

The cold blast we had this week did nothing to slow down the terrific offshore Sea Bass fishing we have been experiencing.
Warm water is pushing in from the Gulf Stream and the water temperature hit a high of 55.5 degrees Sunday. If this keeps up we may not only see bluefish and bonito in the mix, but we may see a tuna or two pretty soon!
Limit catches were the norm all around the boat again Sunday along with a number of limit catches of Jumbo Porgies and some bluefish.

The pool winners were:
Ossman Oughrli from Patterson NJ with a 6LB Sea Bass and his limit of sea bass plus a number of porgies,
Tommmy Liu from Brooklyn NY with a 5LB Sea Bass, a limit of sea bass and porgies.

It looks good for upcoming trips. The water temperature is still 53 to 55.5 degreees offshore. Giant Sea Bass & Jumbo Porgies should continue to migrate to the 50 to 75 mile wrecks.

The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail offshore every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday leaving 11PM the night before.
We have also added a trip for Monday , Presidents Day sailing 11PM the night before.
