1-25 Offshore Sea Bass Report

Air temperatures in the teens did not stop the Sea Bass, Jumbo Porgies or bluefish from biting on the offshore wrecks Friday. We had another good trip with limit catches all around for sea bass and many with limits of jumbo porgies.

The pool winner was:
Rob Finkle from Sparta NJ with a 9.5LB Pollock plus a limit of Giant Sea Bass, a limit of jumbo porgies and several bluefish.
Troy Hammel from Belchertown MA made his first ever offshore trip and caught a limit of sea bass and porgies,
A triple limit was caught by:
Buford Sullivan from Irvington NJ – limit of sea bass, limit of porgies and limit (15) of bluefish!

A few more of the passengers catching their limit of sea bass and porgies were:
Tim Finkle from Sparta, NJ,
Dan Grosso from Mahopak, NY,
Guy Hoffman from Putnam Valley NY,
Hyang Kyu Park from Bronx NY,
Robert Blue from Newburgh NY,
Ted Gudkins from Newark caught his limit of sea bass, limit of porgies and 5blues.

It looks good for upcoming trips. The water temperature is still 53 degreees offshore. Giant Sea Bass & Jumbo Porgies should continue to migrate to the 50 to 75 mile wrecks.
The big Jamaica is scheduled to sail offshore every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday leaving 11PM the night before.

We have also added a trip for Monday , Presidents Day sailing 11PM the night before.
