Not sure its worth the drive [500 mile round trip/ for 1/2 dozen ling and some bananas and horn dogs... Any ideas? It seems inshore tog are slowing down, and I have been thinking perhaps there aren't enough big ling and cod in the mudhole for the inshore bottom boats to make the drive worth the effort... I just am not seeing the steady good reports, I am worried about the weather, and am a bit leary of driving 5 hours each way to load up on pout.. Anyone care to talk me into it?.. I'm pretty easy, and I do have the day off... If you guys were 250 miles from the shore, would you try inshore/short range bottom fishing this time of year? bob

I was out ling fishing today and Monday weather looks close. Very windy and 4-7 ft . sat and sunday are going to be bad and I think it will mess things up inshore for a little bit.
Fishing today was slow, only a dozen ling and my wife stayed inside as it was rough to stay at the rai
Best bet is wait.l

Thanks.. Its about what I was thinking.. For me, a rough and really slow day is a disaster.. Few fish, and about $80 in gas, PLUS the boat fare.. Might be better to wait is right.. Should have come down a few weeks ago, when the tog were hot inshore I guess... bob

Big Jamaica added a sun night trip for the knuckle head cbass and porgy. See if you can get a bunk so you can sleep after/before the drive. The boat has limited like the last 9 times out.

agreed. Sea bass are the best option right now. More money than an inshore, but right now, worth it.:D
