The Gambler sailed on the offshore wreck trip Friday morning. What a difference from the last trip. Seas were calm and weather was beautiful sunny and mid-fifties. Fishing was once again finanamal. The first stop was lock and load with nice quality sea bass and jumbo porgy’s coming over the rail. I don’t remember seeing one dog. After two hours or so Capt. Bob decided to make a move to another wreck in search of some different species. The second stop was again nonstop sea bass and porgy’s. Not the fish we were looking for but it keeps the pool fish still in question with 4 to 5 lb. fish coming over the rail. Everyone on the boat had their limit. There is still room on the NJ fish trip so call and make your reservation mow. Fishing does not get any better than this.

Thanks Capt. Glad you did well and it was a beautiful day out on the water. How deep and how many ounces were you using? Bait or jigs? Teaser or no? What kind of bait is provided on the Gambler (I'm on the 19th trip)? Were people venting the smaller sea bass?

Thanks a bunch - No Pockets

We were using clams squid and jigs they all worked. The boat supplies fresh clams and sells jigs. We were fishing in about 200 feet of water. Ten to 14 ozs worked but bring an assortment because that can chang depending on the conditions.

PS. There were not to many small fish to vent. But they were when required.

Glad I made the trip:D It was a beautiful day on the water warm and flat :) Lines in the water and fish on at touchdown. There were limits of 3 to 5 pounders as fast as you were able to drop and reel along with big Porgies and a few cocktail blues. Captain and mates did an excellent job (as always) and after a couple of hours we had to leave them biting and make a move to try to find another species to play with. Lines in and fish on at touchdown only this time we hit on Sea Bass that were in the 4 to nearly 6lbs and big Porgies, couldn't stay long as after about an hour the entire boat was limited out. Again had to leave them biting, they really had there feed bags on. Can't wait to make this trip again:)

Very good offshore sea bass fishing. Thanks for posting --I'm a little slow on the draw lately.

Too bad we have to cancel this Fridays trip due to lack of participation. Saturday's NJfishing trip looks good though. Just 3 spots left.
