We got a few 2 weeks ago last time I hit the river. Water temps were 2-3 degrees warmer then, but they were still feeding.

Well, Last December through January of this year I had about 60 pike in a 3 wk period.... I remember especially on January 3 of this year I had 19 pike in a 2 hour period caught all on a sliver spoon.... My little secret area on the Passaic has an inlet (sort of a little pond). Half of it was covered with Ice and all I was doing was casting my spoon on to the ice and then dragging it until it dropped off from the ice into the water and I was getting nailed every time... All Pike were between 16 - 28"........ never got any beasts but still fun never the less.

FYI: the only 'inlet' pond I know is on private property. Whom did you ask to get permission to fish there? I'm sorry I didn't hear you, who was it again?
:p

who are you again....? Can I see some credentials?
I dont know what spot your referring to but the spot I frequent is public and owned by the state or town and not private (there are absolutley no private signs)....;)

My apologies. Its a long river so maybe there is a super secret inlet/pond I'm unaware of. I look forward to finding it next spring as will everybody else here. Thanks for sharing!

Dude don't blow up my sturgeon spot. They're really making a comeback in the Two Bridges area. On a side note, I am now selling caviar if anyone needs some Jersey harvested delicasy for the holidays lol.

Quick yet gentle LOL.
Two Bridges Sturgeon aside, I did hit the river for about an hour after work today. No Pike or Bass, only 1 Jersey Redfish, about 10lbs. Carp were very active despite the cool water temps.

I bet you could catch a sturgeon out of the Passaic before I find a pike in the millstone.

That's actually a good point? Wonder why that is?
I know I've seen reports about millstone pike but not many. Are they all concentrated in one area, not doing well in the environment, more quiet fisherman? Predators maybe? Theres apparently more pickerel in the millstone than the Passaic. I wonder if that has an effect on the stocked pike, cause I know I've seen some nice pick pics from the millstone!!
